Construction firm ceases trading

Administrators have been appointed to a construction firm which has ceased trading.

The Construction Partnership Limited has appointed Matthew Fox and Simon Lowes both of CVR Global LLP as its administrators.

The Southampton-based firm had a turnover of around £11m and employed 14 people, who have been made redundant.

The construction firm was unable to avoid administration after disputes with two local councils left it unable to pay creditors.

Mr Fox, partner at CVR Global, said the Construction Partnership was a successful, profitable firm which had delivered hundreds of projects, but these disputes had resulted in serious cash flow problems.

“All its building projects have ceased and all staff have been made redundant.

“Typically companies in this sector have large networks of subcontractors and in this instance we believe that may number over 200 companies and individuals.

“We are currently investigating the possibility of further legal challenges over the two council contracts where payment has been withheld.”

Since forming in 1998, the construction firm has delivered more than 200 projects, including new builds, refurbishment and alteration work across many sectors.

The Construction Partnership worked on building projects ranging from £200,000 to £4m across London and the Home Counties.
