Walter Lloyd Jones & Co has been instructed by Dolgellau Golf Club to sell the course and surrounding properties, including a recently refurbished 400-year-old cottage.
The estate is located within Snowdonia National Park in Wales and was once part of the Hengwrt estate.
The nine-hole golf course was designed over 100 years ago and there are opportunities to extend the course.
There is also a 200-yard practise facility used for teaching and a practise putting green is currently in the pipeline for being developed.
The golf course’s clubhouse was completed in 2007 and is used for other commercial activities, such as conferences, weddings and business functions, accommodating up to 300 people.
Walter Lloyds Jones & Co revealed that Dolgellau Golf Club is a highly regarded golf facility and benefits from an established trading record and since the current owner bought the property in June 2004 it has built an excellent reputation.
The listing stated: “In 2009, the club was leased to a tenant for three years, which did not prove agreeable to the owner and hence now being offered for sale so that the owner can pursue his other business interests.
“It is urged that the incumbent proprietor when doing due diligence should look at the membership per capita and the membership fees to see the room for expansion.
“It is considered that the club does offer great scope for commercialisation.”
The cottage contains two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and lounge, plus a workshop and garage attached.
The estate also contains practice facilities and green keepers’ facilities.
Dolgellau Golf Club is freehold and the cottage is currently rented out, but will be vacant upon completion of the transaction if required.
