Construction firm enters administration



Refurb and new-build specialist Charter Construction PLC has entered administration.


The firm’s website revealed that H Maddison MIPA, MABRP was appointed administrator of Charter’s affairs and business on 8th November 2016.

Founded in 1983, the Harrow-based firm had worked on a variety of projects, including residential, commercial and mixed-use developments.

Notable projects include a 10-unit mixed-use development in Foundry Mews, London, which won the 2016 British Home Award for Development of the Year.

The £2.8m contract took 53 weeks to complete.

The firm also restored the Fortune Theatre in London’s West End, helping to repair the Grade II-listed property’s concrete facades, windows and roofing.

Other works include a new-build maths block at Carshalton School for Boys, an outbuilding demolition at Fullwell Golf Club and a storage facility for the Zara retail chain in Brent Cross Shopping Centre.

    I was sorry and very surprised to hear of demise of what I thought was a very stable business . Must have come as a surprise to all past and present employees. having been in the same position a couple of times I wish them all the best in finding employment in the future .
