Harrods partners with global property developer

A Dubai property developer responsible for the iconic Burj Khalifa tower has agreed a marketing deal to transform the windows and second floor of Harrods department store in a bid to showcase its latest properties.

Emaar Properties has partnered with the store’s real estate division Harrods Estates to launch an exhibition selling Dubai homes in an area of the shop which has over 205,000 visitors per month.

The collaboration follows a similar property showcase last year which generated millions of pounds worth of sales.

Simon Barry, head of new residential developments at Harrods Estates, said: “Homes in Dubai are a third of the price of a typical new-build London apartment and the Emaar offering is outstanding since the brand is renowned for developing high-quality lifestyle communities rather than simply residential developments.

“The 2016 sales exhibition with Emaar attracted buyers from London, continental Europe, the Middle East and Asia and we expect this pattern to be replicated in 2017.

“There is no other department store in the world like Harrods, where someone can come in and buy a property.”

The exhibition – which runs until 31st August 2017 – will advertise homes in areas such as Dubai’s Opera District, Dubai Creek Harbour and Downtown Dubai.

Properties on offer will range from one-bedroom apartments through to large family houses and villas with prices starting from £216,000.

From 1st February, those interested in owning a property will also be able to meet with a Harrods Estates property adviser in a specially designed sales suite.

As part of the showcase, Harrods will display a seven-foot model of an observation tower at Dubai Creek Harbour in a high-profile window on the corner of Brompton and Hans Road.

Ahmad Al Matrooshi, managing director of Emaar Properties, added: “Our 2017 Emaar showcase at Harrods promises to be the most spectacular property exhibition undertaken in the store in recent years and it is a ‘must-see’ exhibition for visitors to London.

“Buying a home in Dubai provides London purchasers with an exceptional lifestyle providing 365 days of sunshine, stability and tax-free status.

“This is why each year more residents from the UK choose to buy a home in Dubai and live in the Emirate either full-time, part-time or for holidays.”
