Haringey Council has narrowed its shortlist to three bidders as it looks to identify a long-term partner for the High Road West development in Tottenham.
Barratt Developments PLC, Lendlease Development Limited and Linkcity (Bouygues) are the three shortlisted firms with the council set to name its partner in mid-2017.
The development is adjacent to the new £900m Tottenham Hotspur football stadium development and will deliver a minimum of 1,400 new homes.
The scheme will also be built alongside the Northumberland Park East regeneration scheme, which combined with Tottenham Hotspur’s development will see the creation of 5,000 new homes and 4,000 new jobs.
The High Road West scheme also has the backing of the mayor of London, who has contributed £62m of funding to support the regeneration of north Tottenham.
Cllr Alan Strickland, cabinet member for housing, regeneration and planning at Haringey Council, said the Tottenham regeneration scheme was a major priority for the borough and the scheme had developed following three years of consultation with the local community.
“With the support of residents this scheme will deliver much-needed new jobs, homes and community facilities, helping us [to] achieve our wider ambitions for supporting growth in Tottenham and creating a new leisure destination for London.
“We look forward to making a final decision on our partner in the coming months.”
The regeneration follows the investment in south Tottenham, which represented the first phase of London’s largest housing zone in Tottenham.
Around 800 homes will be delivered as well as improved transport links, new shops, cafés and community facilities in Tottenham Hale.
