Brexit policy experts to speak at NFB annual conference

The National Federation of Builders (NFB) has announced that Henry Newman will speak at its annual conference on 22nd November 2017.

A director of the independent policy think-tank Open Europe, Henry will deliver the keynote address on Brexit at London’s County Hall.

Open Europe provides analysis on what comes next following the UK’s EU referendum verdict.

The conference will also host a panel of expert speakers who will give advice on Brexit, including Lord Andrew Stunell, former MP for Hazel Grove; Dr Andrew Lilico, executive director for Europe Economics; and Noble Francis, economics director for the Construction Products Association.

The panel has been selected to provide balance and practical guidance that will help to inform and prepare businesses for the changes ahead.

Richard Beresford, chief executive of the NFB, said: “With exit negotiations in a deadlock, the precise nature and future effect of Brexit remain unclear.

“The future relationship between the UK and the EU will profoundly affect the economic performance of the construction industry.

“We look forward to welcoming an exciting line-up of diverse and influential political, governmental and industry experts to our conference.”

The conference’s theme is ‘Making success of UK construction’, with sessions focusing on delivering a skilled workforce, fixing the planning process, combating the housing crisis and the impact of Brexit for SME builders.

The full conference agenda can be viewed on the NFB website.
