The scheme will comprise four one-bed and 26 two-bed homes, with three of the two-bed flats adapted for wheelchair users.

Eighteen of the homes will be available at genuinely affordable rent, while the remaining 12 homes have been earmarked for first-time buyers to purchase on a shared ownership agreement.

The council worked closely with SBHG on the scheme, which will see the redevelopment of the council-owned Fulham North Housing Office and adjacent car park on the Clem Attlee Estate.

“We know how much local people struggle to afford housing in Fulham,” said Cllr Lisa Homan, H&F Council’s cabinet member for housing.

“And many are worried about being priced out of the area, so we’re doing everything possible to increase the supply of genuinely affordable homes.

“That’s why we’ve released this council-owned land for Fulham residents who need a home.”

Matt Campion, chief executive of Shepherds Bush Housing Group, added: “We’ve been providing affordable homes in the borough since 1968 and the best start to our 50th anniversary year is to be building 30 more homes for local people.

“These homes add to 14 new homes and a community centre that we plan to build at Emlyn Gardens and we are actively looking for other sites through our partnership with H&F Council.”

The development will house local charity Action on Disability and provide much-needed office and community space.
