St Modwen announces board changes

St Modwen Properties PLC is set to appoint a new non-executive director.

Jamie Hopkins (pictured above) will join the regeneration specialist’s audit, remuneration and nomination committees of the board from 1st March and brings with him 20 years of experience in the property sector.

Currently CEO at Workspace Group, Jamie was formerly chief executive and then non-executive director at Mapeley PLC and a director of Chester Properties.

St Modwen also revealed that Richard Mully, senior independent director, would be stepping down after the company’s annual general meeting on 28th March.

Kay Chaldecott, non-executive director, will also be stepping down from the board at the AGM after serving at St Modwen for almost six years.

Ian Bull, chair of the audit committee, will take over as senior independent director when Richard steps down from the role in March.

Meanwhile, in line with succession planning arrangements, Jenefer Greenwood will succeed Lesley James as chair of the remuneration committee after the 2018 AGM.

Lesley will continue to serve the board after the AGM in her capacity as non-executive director and will retire from the board later in 2018.

“We welcome Jamie to the board of St Modwen, who brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience from the property sector and we are all very much looking forward to working with him,” said Bill Shannon, chairman of St Modwen.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Richard, Kay and Lesley for their efforts and contributions during their time at St Modwen and look forward to Jenefer and Ian taking on their respective new roles in due course.”
