The project will see the construction of three residential buildings of between three and six storeys.

It is set to feature 207 high-specification en-suite units, with between five to eight bedrooms.

Plans also include dedicated communal areas, common room, gym, study room, management suite, bicycle storage, a public coffee shop at ground level and a private outdoor landscaped courtyard.

The scheme is close to Trinity College Dublin and the Royal College of Surgeons’ campus, as well as University College Dublin and City University.

The project will be Crosslane’s first student development in the Republic of Ireland.

Dublin based architects, John Fleming has been appointed from the design of the project.

Following feedback from the council’s planning department, the external designs were amended to minimized the impact of the development on local amenities and public access routes and to protect the privacy of the neighbouring properties.

Lisa Timberlake, development manager, Crosslane Student Developments, said: “Crosslane is delighted to have secured planning consent for our first student accommodation development in Dublin following extensive engagement with the local planning officers and consultation with local residents.”

The scheme scheduled for completion in time for the 2019/2020 academic year.

Crosslane’s student accommodation lettings arm of, Prime Student Living will be responsible for securing full occupancy.
