Plans revealed for Chester racecourse development

Plans for the £100m transformation of Chester racecourse have been revealed.

The venue invited members of the public to attend an exhibition last month to view the detailed designs behind the Chester Race Company 2018 masterplan.

The plans will look to make Chester one of the top racecourses in the UK by providing new and improved facilities for horse racing fans.

This will include extending the racecourse estate with buildings which will attract events to Chester throughout the year as it looks to maintain its place as a major economic generator for the city.

It will look to deliver a new events building, which will offer a new space for both city and regional events and conferences.

The company will also aim to design buildings and public spaces to form a pleasant and safe connection between Chester and the Old Port.

If approved, the masterplan will be implemented in phases over a number of years.
