Plans approved for Cumbrian business park

Planning consultancy HOW Planning has secured full planning permission for the redevelopment of a 3.25-hectare allocated site in Ulverston, Cumbria.

Property developer Rawdon Property Group plans to transform the site into an extensive employment-led, mixed-use development.

South Lakeland District Council approved the plans for the erection of employment units: two retail food units – which will be occupied by Aldi and a Marks & Spencer Food Hall – a veterinary practice unit and the creation of new internal roads and car parking areas, as well as new landscaping.

Conor Vallelly, associate at HOW Planning, said that this was an excellent result.

“We know from the feedback that the majority of the people in Ulverston and the surrounding area want to see this development delivered.

“It will create many opportunities for the local community and the wider district, acting as a catalyst for investment to the area.”

Brian Scott from Rawdon Property Group added: “We have been working closely with our advisers for a long time to ensure this development will meet all expectations and ambitions for the area.

“The decision ensures we can now make a start on delivering on our plans.”
