Modular specialist secures £25m Wembley student accommodation scheme contract

Caledonian Modular has secured a £25m contract to manufacture the bedroom accommodation modules for the University Campus of Football Business’s First Way Campus in Wembley.

The off-site construction specialist – working with Bowmer & Kirkland – will manufacture the 680 bedrooms at its 40-acre site in Newark, Nottinghamshire, and install them using its modular building system.

Caledonian Modular was awarded the contract after demonstrating how its modular building system would help to meet the strict deadline dates on this project, which required handover by July 2020 in time for the Euro 2020 football tournament.

“Our ability to deliver to a strict schedule and have an existing fire compliant solution made a compelling proposition for First Way Campus,” said Paul Lang, CEO at Caledonian Modular.

“The development rises to 11 storeys and that really shows what is possible with our modular building solution.”

First Way Campus is situated a short walk from Wembley Stadium and will include a mix of purpose-built student accommodation as well as academic, office and outdoor space.
