MCS Group reaches practical completion on Milton Keynes development

Construction contractor MCS Group has announced the practical completion of a 50,000 sq ft warehouse development in Milton Keynes.

Optima 50 has been delivered by MCS on behalf of Coal Pensions Properties, with MCS also completing Optima 20 — a 20,000 sq ft unit — at the same site.

Optima 50 has immediate access to the A5 via the Abbey Hill interchange and is around one mile west of central Milton Keynes, with junction 14 of the M1 motorway just 4.5 miles to the east.

Both units were pre-let with DRS Data Services expected to move into Optima 50 shortly, while Sysmex UK has taken occupation of Optima 20.

Tim Perkins, group construction director at MCS Group, said: “This has been a great project and we’re delighted to be able to hand both units over to Coal Pensions Properties ready for their new occupiers to move in.

“We believe there is a major opportunity for us to establish ourselves as one of the leading main contractors in the sector and in 2019 we expect to deliver more than 1.5 million sq ft.”
