Iliya will be directing the growth of the company, both organically and through joint venture, as well as taking responsibility for business operations at an executive level.
He will also oversee standardising functional processes and drive the group's expansion across the ‘beds’ sectors.
He will report directly to the board of Dominvs Group.
Iliya previously worked at iQ Student Accommodation as chief investment officer, where he was part of the executive team that led the sale of iQ to Blackstone in May 2020.
Before that, he held senior positions at various companies, including The Wellcome Trust and LaSalle Investment Management.
"It's an exciting time to join Dominvs Group, and I have been struck by the entrepreneurial approach it takes to real estate,” said Iliya.

"The opportunity I see is to create a truly gold-plated, institutional-standard property investment and development business that operates across a wide spectrum of property sectors, building on the group's deep expertise in residential and hospitality.
“I have been impressed with its continued momentum and look forward to leveraging my experience as we look to capitalise on the opportunities ahead."
Preet Ahluwalia, director at Dominvs Group, added: "Iliya brings decades of experience from across the wider property investment sector and has an extensive background in asset allocation, investment management and a wide range of property classes.
"Over the last five years, Iliya has made a significant impact in shaping the direction and growth of the student accommodation sector in the UK.
“We are confident that he will be a strong leader in the business and instrumental in driving the next phase of growth at the group."
Illiya’s appointment is part of Dominvs Group’s strategy of strengthening its team as it seeks to capitalise on its success in residential development.
As part this, it intends to expand into new property classes.
