Hayfield begins work on £31m GDV green development in Bedfordshire

Hayfield has started work on its 13th development, a £31m GDV green residential scheme in Bromham, Bedfordshire, following planning approval from Bedford Borough Council.

The Hayfield Park project, located on a 10.4 acre site off Stagsden Road, is set to deliver 80 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes — 30% of which will be affordable houses — featuring air source heat pumps, energy-efficient underfloor heating, enhanced insulation, smart electric vehicle fast-charging points and ultra-fast broadband.

The houses will be developed around a fully equipped children’s play area and a significant amount of public open space.

The scheme will also offer private garages and off-road and visitor parking spaces.

The brick, architectural detailing and materials used will be reflective of the surrounding area and Bromham’s historic village core, while the design of the public realm across the scheme will adhere to the Secured By Design standards.

The development is being part-funded by the housebuilder’s £67m finance facility from OakNorth Bank, with the groundworks undertaken by RM Contractors.

An off-plan sales launch is scheduled to take place in the spring of 2022.

Andy Morris, managing director at Hayfield, said: “We are very proud of the reputation we have already created in Bedfordshire, with the 200 homes we are delivering in Silsoe and Clifton now reaching the final phases.

“Hayfield Park will elevate the standard of new homes built in this sought-after area, but more of the same is never enough, so the scheme will deliver something very different to the market, featuring our ‘Green Revolution’ technology.

“These 80 sensitively designed homes will demonstrate how conserving energy and the environment doesn’t need to make any compromises to our signature luxury style.

“We are pleased that this prime £31m GDV development will also create and safeguard construction jobs and provide a boost to the local economy.

“While working alongside our neighbours and contractors during the construction phase, the entire team will be focused on creating an outstanding new community and exceeding the hopes and aspirations of future Hayfield homeowners.”
