Topland Group breaks ground on 221-bed hotel development in Brighton



Topland Group and CField Construction have partnered up to build a new 221-bed seafront hotel development in Brighton.

p>The developer’s latest project brings its commitment to projects in Brighton in excess of £55m. 

The new seafront hotel is set to be completed by 2024 and , which will be operated by Dalata Hotel Group. 

It will include a bar, dining facilities, and an open courtyard with cycle storage. 

The project is part of a wider Brighton hospitality scheme managed by Topland Group which includes the refurbishment of the nearby 323-bed Hilton Brighton Metropole hotel. 

The developer said the build further underlines its investment in the UK hospitality sector following its recent provision of a £16.5m lending facility secured against the LaLiT Hotel in London through its structured finance division. 

William Davies, an asset management director at Topland Group, said: “Alongside the major refurbishment underway at the adjacent Metropole, this new hotel will breathe new life into the Brighton seafront and provide a high-quality guest experience that will ultimately drive local growth.

“We’re looking forward to partnering with Dalata on a long lease basis as we continue to support a range of operators and the re-emergence of the hospitality sector following the pandemic.”
