St Modwen unveils plans for 205 additional flats for Longbridge scheme

St Modwen Homes has secured a resolution to grant full planning permission to build an additional 205 new homes for its Longbridge scheme in Birmingham.

Once fully approved by Birmingham City Council, the company will deliver three new apartment blocks on the former MG Rover site.

The new homes will comprise 100 one-bedroom apartments and 105 two-bedroom flats, including affordable housing available through social/affordable rent and the government’s First Homes schemes.

All three apartment blocks will have communal roof terraces available exclusively to every resident.

The phase will also include space for over 200 bicycles and will have 105 car parking spaces; all of which will include an electric vehicle charging point.

The 205 new homes will be delivered in addition to the 350 all-electric homes St Modwen has planned for the site.

Dave Smith, MD at St Modwen Homes, said: “Longbridge is fast becoming a thriving community hub from which people can live, work and play.

“The new apartments represent a positive next step in the regeneration of the area and will provide sought-after homes, conveniently located next to public transport links and amenities.”
