Create Homes receives planning permission for Bispham housing development

Create Homes has received full planning permission for a new housing development in Bispham, near Blackpool.

The regional house builder secured the permission from Blackpool and Wyre councils to build 51 new homes, which will provide much-needed quality housing opportunities for the area.

The council received funding from the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities via its land release fund towards infrastructure costs, helping to open the site.

‘The Groves’ will offer three- and four-bedroom homes under the new Create Homes 'Executive Collection' brand.

As part of the development, there will be 16 affordable homes built in partnership with Great Places, which will provide rental opportunities for locals to access.

Work started on site last month and incorporates some new Create Homes designs which were created especially for the development.

Nick Gornall, director of development at Great Places, commented: “We’re delighted to be working with Create Homes on our first joint project.

“The Groves is the start of what we hope will be a growing partnership and will deliver 16 much-needed affordable homes as part of this exciting new mixed-tenure development.”

Blackpool Labour Cllr Mark Smith, who is also cabinet member for Levelling Up Place, added: “Creating new high-quality homes is a key priority for the council and we are delighted that we have been able to release land for this development to go ahead.

“The scheme has received money from the Levelling Up’s land release fund to enable a new traffic system to be implemented, improving the road access and opening up the land for these 51 new homes to be built.”
