Cohort Capital provides £5.5m facility for purchase of Simon Cowell's Holland Park home

Specialist property lender Cohort Capital has closed a £5.5m loan for an unnamed HNW individual to purchase Simon Cowell’s six-bedroom mansion located in the A-list Holland Park neighbourhood in London.

The 35% LTV one-year term facility was agreed in four business days with the borrower planning to refinance via a private bank as the exit.

The historic Georgian property — sold at £15m — sits in one of the most exclusive areas of London, with celebrity neighbours such as Ed Sheeran and David Beckham.

The luxury dwelling was previously sold at £5.65m in 2003.

Cohort Capital’s extensive knowledge of the luxury residential property sector has enabled the borrower to receive funding in a short amount of time and swiftly close the deal on the multi-million-pound property.

Matt Thame, founder of Cohort Capital, commented: “Given the current turbulent market conditions, time is of the essence more than ever in the luxury real estate sector, and we’re delighted to have been able to close this deal in less than a week.

“Our expertise in the industry has proved to be [valuable] as we understand the importance of speed, reliability and flexibility in securing finance.”
