Michael J Lonsdale goes into administration

Multi-discipline building and engineering services provider Michael J Lonsdale (MJL) has entered into administration yesterday (2nd October 2023).

Jeremy Karr, Jamie Taylor and Dominik Czerwinke were formally appointed on Monday as joint administrators of the company.

Established in 1986 — with over 30 years of experience — MJL was a fully integrated, privately owned building services engineering business.

Holly Gibson, environmental and sustainability coordinator at MJL, said in a LinkedIn post that the news came as a real shock to her.

Sean Cook, senior project engineer at MJL, also commented on LinkedIn: “It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that MJL has gone into administration.

“As a proud member of the team, I am saddened by this turn of events.”

Vigan Rexhepi, one of the firm’s electrical PMs, stated: “MJL weren't just a company I worked for, but felt more like a family — I grew up and became an adult in the industry with thanks to all the amazing supervisors, managers and staff within the company throughout the years.

“Today is truly a sad day for the industry and there is now massive void to fill.”

DFT approached Begbies Traynor for comments, but the firm has not yet responded.
