The construction contract for the Edinburgh Innovation Hub has been awarded to Heron Brothers limited.

The 7,200 sqm Innovation Hub, a JV between East Lothian Council and Queen Margaret University (QMU), was granted planning permission last September.

The Innovation centre will host a range of tenants from the academic, research and industry sector.

The project is supported by £28.6m from the UK government and a further £1.4m from the Scottish government and £10m from East Lothian Council.

Cathal Heron, regional director of Heron Bros Ltd, said: “It’s a privilege to work with East Lothian Council and Queen Margaret University on this state-of-the-art facility…  we look forward to the successful completion of such an important project.”
