Weston Homes aims for summer 2024 sales launch for £50m GDV Barking development

Weston Homes has announced that construction is underway for the new development, Town Quay, in Barking, with the launch date set for summer 2024.

The £50m GDV mixed-use development will provide 147 newly built one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, with 62 of the 147 homes being allocated to affordable housing and 10,764 sq ft of commercial space, all designed around a public plaza overlooking the Mill Pond and River Roding.

In partnership with Be First London, working on behalf of Barking and Dagenham Council, 62 of the 147 new homes will be affordable housing, with 29 of the affordable apartments being rented units and 33 shared ownership.

On the ground floor of the buildings there are parking bays and cycle storage and planned food and beverage commercial units, workshops and artists’ studios.

Suzanne Aplin, group sales and marketing director at Weston Homes, commented: “We are delighted to announce the launch of our new development, Town Quay, for the summer of 2024, which in partnership with Barking and Dagenham Council will provide not only a large number of private market sale homes, but a significant number of affordable homes.”
