First homes open at Welborne Garden Village

The first homes have opened at Welborne Garden Village, situated between the South Downs and the South Coast.

The development is being delivered by housebuilder Thakeham in a joint venture with Buckland, the master developer of Welborne.

Welborne Garden Village will ultimately be able to house 15,000 people and include four schools, healthcare facilities, retailers and leisure amenities.

This first tranche of properties includes a selection and three and four-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes being made available, with prices starting from £460,000.

A broader range of homes will follow, including one to five-bedroom properties such as apartments and terraced houses, and expected to complete later this year.

CG Fry and Pye Homes, Welborne’s other build partners, are working on these units.

All properties on the site feature air source heat system, EV charging ports and one gigabit fibre broadband connection.

“Bringing our first homes at Welborne to market marks an exciting new chapter for us. Our homes combine cutting edge ecotechnology with exceptional energy efficiency, modern comfort and timeless, heritage-inspired style,” said Rob Boughton, founder and CEO at Thakeham.

“Thakeham at Welborne is the latest example of our bold vision for modern homebuilding and will be a place where people will want to live a hundred years from now — a sustainable and connected community.”
