A dishonest former company Director who concealed millions from liquidators has been handed a 6 year ban.
Colin James McKenzie, 47, of Cross Inn, Pontyclun, ex-Director of Welsh building materials firm Blaina Manufacturing Ltd, hid cash debts of £1,430,374 owed by an associated company and assets of more than £600,000.
In all, the shamed company chief concealed just over £2,030,000 spread over cash and assets.
He also breached company agreements by disposing of £93,960 worth of assets and by borrowing £97,000 whilst insolvent.
When the firm was liquidated in March 2012 it had no assets but did have liabilities of £659,736.
Blania Manufacturing Ltd was founded in 2009 as a manufacturing and building material testing firm and was placed into voluntary liquidation in March 2012.
Commenting on the disqualification, Susan MacLeod, Chief Investigator at the Insolvency Service, said: “Directors who fail in their obligations and cause creditors and the public to lose money can expect to be investigated by the Insolvency Service and enforcement action taken to remove them from the market place.”
As part of his ban, McKenzie is forbidden from acting as a company director, from acting as a receiver on a company’s property and from taking part, directly or indirectly, in the promotion, formation or management of a company or limited liability partnership.
