A timber company has been sentenced after a worker gained significant hand injuries.
Brookridge Timber Limited, of Fourways Cross, Hemyock, Cullompton, Devon, has been fined a total of £9,500 at Exeter Magistrates Court after a worker was injured while working.
The injury took place in November 2013 when the came into contact with a moving blade of a cross cut saw, resulting in significant hand injuries.
On the 28th April 2015, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) announced that the timber company had been found guilty of breaching Section 2 of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
The company was fined £5,000 on top of £4500 worth of costs.
