Eric Wright Construction has won a £9 million contract to construct a new health facility.
Construction for the Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services facility for Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP) is expected to be completed by May 2016.
The contract has been awarded on behalf of the Trust by Villicare, Ryhurst’s joint trust with CWP, which was formed to assist the Trust with its capital investment programme, and will be managing the delivery of the project.
CWP Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Finance, Tim Welch, said the unit would provide a state of the art child and adolescent mental health unit.
“It will address the national agenda to provide increased mental health care and support for young people and we anticipate that it will become a best-practice facility, benefitting from the latest green technologies in close proximity to the country park with easy access to open spaces,” said Tim.
“CWP is committed to reinvesting in our services to provide patients with the best possible experience and the new unit will be an excellent facility for young people and their families across Cheshire and Wirral.
"We needed a construction company that could deliver a high standard healthcare facility with an understanding of both the specialist nature of the unit and the time critical programme and Eric Wright Construction demonstrated the required expertise."
Operations Director of Eric Wright Construction, Jonathan Rayner, added: "This project builds on our wide-ranging experience in the healthcare sector and we look forward to working with Villicare and commencing on site in the next few weeks."
