From 3rd May, workers began closing the pavement alongside Marland House, situated between Wales’ Principality Stadium and Cardiff Central Railway Station.
The removal of Marland House is part of Cardiff’s Central Square regeneration project.
The CTI was given the go ahead in March, where architects Foster & Partners have been brought on board for its design and expects to submit a planning application in the summer.
A new BBC HQ is already under construction nearby, and hoarding around the site has been extended alongisde Marland House.
The development also saw the construction of a new office space named One Central Square.
A further office development, which is currently being considered by the Local Planning Authority, dubbed Two Central Square, is expected to follow.
While pedestrian access to the Principality Stadium is undergoing temporary change, alternative queuing plans are being developed to facilitate events such as the Beyoncé concert in June 2016.
