Contractor acquires assets from failed construction firm

Keltbray Group has confirmed that it has acquired some of the assets from Dunne Group, which recently went into administration.

Over 500 jobs were lost last month when the Dunne Group announced that it had ceased trading.

Despite the construction firm reporting a £74m turnover last year, the Dunne Group had reported severe cash flow pressures forcing them to close.

Now Keltbray has revealed that it has purchased the Dunne Group’s former yard and head office at Bathgate in Scotland.

The group, which offers engineering, construction, demolition, decommissioning, remediation, rail and environmental services, has also acquired a plant used for the construction of reinforced concrete structures.

Keltbray said that it saw the acquisition as an opportunity to broaden its capability and services portfolio.

It also added that it wanted to widen its geographical reach and to respond to market demands.

Keltbray has been involved in a number of high-profile construction projects, including The Shard, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Stadium, St Pancras International and the redevelopment of Battersea Power Station.
