Addland

Platform launches to make it easy to find, research, buy and sell land

A land platform designed to revolutionise finding, researching, buying and selling land has launched.

Addland.com — which was founded by Thomas McAlpine (pictured above), whose career spans construction, land and finance — enables users to understand the opportunities for each and every land plot in order to unlock true potential.

The team behind Addland.com includes CEO Jonathan Williams, head of product Hannah Parker, and head of sales and customer success Sinead Hatter, who between them have 30 years of experience in the proptech industry.

The platform uses data directly from source at Ordnance Survey, Land Registry and government sites, while also being available remotely to allow access when in the field assessing potential sites.

It can be used by land agents, housebuilders, developers, casual buyers, strategic land alliances and professional purchasers.

More than 50 property firms are already on the platform, including Savills.

“We’re building a generational business with an emphasis on customer satisfaction,” said Thomas.

“Our platform offers a single destination that brings land to life; an aggregation of existing industry subscriptions, an entire end-to-end back-office service, and all the research tools needed to undertake complete due diligence.

“Digitalising the whole process this way means we can create both time and financial efficiencies for our customers, making it easier to find, research, buy or sell land.”

Purchasers with a free Addland Essential subscription can make informed decisions, which makes them more serious leads, and also register for off-market land alerts, organise viewings, submit offers and communicate with land agents through their personalised dashboard.

An Addland Pro subscription allows access to thorough advanced mapping that visualises the exact areas of land for sale, while individual overlays reveal all land details, from environmental considerations such as flood zones, public rights of way or ancient woodland, to boundary details, acreage and terrain levels.

It can also streamline analysis, pricing and selling of residential, commercial and agricultural land, reducing the time to identify and analyse plots.

Estate agents, housebuilders and strategic land alliances can expect increased exposure of their land listings and, as part of an Addland Agent subscription, they can also manage their entire sales process in one place.

Listings are said to only take a couple of minutes to upload and are quality checked prior to release, while heads of terms negotiation software embedded into the platform allows firms to track and negotiate sales online.

Companies already signed up to Addland.com include Savills, Bidwells and Land & New Homes Network, with over 450 listings now live on the platform.

As part of its launch, it is currently offering land agents, housebuilders and developers free access to its Addland Agent Subscription until September 2021.

“The feedback we have had so far has been hugely positive,” commented Thomas.

“I look forward to welcoming others over the following weeks.”
