Persimmon buys Essex plot for 505 homes

Persimmon has completed the purchase of land in Essex, with outline planning permission for 505 homes.

Located at Wyvern Farm in Stanway, Colchester, this will be a dual branded development between Persimmon and Charles Church.

Both brands will offer individual show homes and separate sales offices to distinguish between them.

Charles Church will offer 114 homes, with open plan layouts, bi-fold doors and kitchen islands.

The development will also offer 104 homes for shared ownership and affordable rent.

Persimmon’s Essex team will submit a detailed planning application in the coming weeks.

“The land and planning team have worked tirelessly on achieving this acquisition and I want to thank them for their efforts,” said Richard Hush, managing director at Persimmon Homes Essex.

“This is the first of several large cornerstone developments which will support our growth plans.

“Having operated in the Stanway location for many years we have great confidence in our knowledge of the area, and having the dual branding will allow us to cater for the full range of customers while elevating the Charles Church brand to one of desirability.”
